Projected
levels of service : intersections
"Level
of Service" (LOS) for signalized intersections is based
on the average delay time experienced by vehicles at a givern intersection.
LOS grades are similar to school grades: A is excellent and F is
failing.
Another
figure of merit is the segment level
of service, which is based on total daily traffic and roadway
capacity for a given segment of roadway.
