Traffic
: freeways, transit and the 2030 RTP
SANDAG's
2030 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) contains various scenarios
for freeway improvements, transit implementation, etc. The map below
identifies freeway improvements and transit within the most conservative
funding scenario - this is the so-called "revenue-constrained
network".
As
one can see from the map, Genesee Avenue is a planned transit route.
It is one of three major north/south routes extending southward
from the Golden Triangle area, the others being Interstate 5 and
Interstate 805. Regents Road, which turns to the east in Clairemont
as it becomes Clairemont Mesa Drive, is not capable of providing
this critically needed N/S capacity.
