Genesee Avenue grade separation : profile

The Genesee Avenue / Governor Drive intersection is particularly well-suited for grade separation, since it lies at the top of a hill. Starting 70' north of Radcliffe Lane, the two interior lanes (one NB, one SB) on Genesee Avenue would be drawn below grade, eventually tunneling beneath Governor Drive in a short (114' long) underpass. The termination of the grade separation on the northern end would occur approximately 280' south of Calgary Court.

Radcliffe Lane would become right-out-only within this alternative. Indeed, it likely would suffer the same fate under any alternative, since traffic on Genesee Avenue is projected to increase relative to today's volumes (within any scenario, including the bridge), and it is already quite dangerous to make a left turn from Radcliffe Lane onto Genesee Avenue.
